Jim is a very humble man who doesn't spend his time pointing out what God is doing through him. If you'd like a look at Jim's heart, just take a look at this link!
Here is an update of our trip so far.
After working very hard to get StillWater and our home ready, Elaine and I drove to Detroit. It saved us hundreds of dollars to fly from there this time. We made it safely here in South Africa Thursday night after what seemed like a very long pair of flights.
Shanette, of Kibbutz El-Shammah, greeted us and then drove us up to the farm of our friends, Francois and Yolandi DuToit’s, which is located on their beautiful vineyard in a valley five miles from Worcester. For the next three days we spent catching up with old
friends and preparing for the outreach that started on Sunday.
Before coming, we had no idea what how we would get around but were once again overwhelmed as Francois handed us the keys to a small Toyota. It is ours to use for the full time we are here!
We picked up the men on Sunday afternoon and immediately took them to the house that has been given us to use till New Year’s Eve. A ministry that Erena is associated with, House of Hope, was given the use of this home in the country, but the women who live here
are gone for the Christmas holiday. The old but beautiful farmhouse is in the middle of the valley surrounded by trees, fields of cactus and a beautiful stream a ten-minute walk away.
We are spending a lot of time training four of the men that remain of the group that we left last February. Before we left for South Africa, I sensed the Lord prompting me to “ strengthen that which remained”. The first few days together, we reviewed the
foundations that we built on last year and are now preparing them for outreaches that start Christmas Eve and then carry on into the new year. Their response has been very encouraging. They are definitely hungry for more and we are happy to be a part of them
Friday, all of us moved back to Worcester for the Christmas holiday. The men will be able to be with their families and we will be able to enjoy the break together. Our friend, Shanette is allowing us to use her home while she is away with her parents in Cape Town.
We will be spending Christmas Eve with Erena’s family, they are our personal South frican family and we look forward to more time with them.
We will be sending out a mass email soon with more details and photos.
We hope you all have a Great Christmas.
Jim and Elaine
